Divemaster

The Divemaster course is your first level of professional training. Qualified Rescue Divers will gain dive knowledge, management and supervision abilities so you become a role model to divers everywhere. This course provides extensive development of ones’ diving skills, stamina and theoretical diving knowledge.

Registration is required for this course. Consists of knowledge development, water skills development, practical application and divemaster conducted workshops and assessments.

Requirements:
  Be at least 18 years of age with a PADI Rescue Diver certification or equivalent. Proof of 40 logged dives to start the program with 60 logged dives to complete the certification.
  Emergency First Responder Primary and Secondary Care or qualifying training within 24 months or a current C.P.R. and First Aid certification is required prior to the start of this course.
  Medical exam, with completed PADI Medical Statement, within the past twelve months
  Equipment as described for Instructors and Certified Assistants in the General Standards and Procedures.

Divers should have their own equipment (BCD, regulator with gauges, weights, suit, etc.). Tanks can be provided.

Included: Dive Master crew-pack with Instructor Manual, Instructor fee

Not included: Online course, Divemaster eLearning, payable to PADI upon registration. Admission to the dive site(s), rental of equipment, air fills and travel expenses. Application and processing fee due upon completion of the course.

Assistant Instructor

The Assistant Instructor course you will gain additional experience as a professional diver and start learning the PADI system of diver education. Assistant Instructors will gain knowledge to organize and present information, conduct skill development and assume limited teaching responsibilities. AI's gain experiences in order to become a scuba instructor.

Registration is required for this course. Consists knowledge development, water skills workshop and assessment, confined water presentation and open water presentation training, and rescue skills assessments.

Requirements:
  Be at least 18 years of age with a PADI Rescue Diver certification or equivalent.
  Proof of 60 logged dives including documented experience in night diving, deep diving and underwater navigation.
  Emergency First Responder Primary and Secondary Care or qualifying training within 24 months or a current C.P.R. and First Aid certification is required prior to the start of this course.
  Medical exam, with completed PADI Medical Statement, within the past twelve months
  Equipment as described for Instructors and Certified Assistants in the General Standards and Procedures.

Open Water Scuba Instructor

The Open Water Scuba Instructor course is currently in progress to be offered at York Divers. During this time, the York Divers staff will work with Instructor candidates to assist in meeting their dive careers needs.

Registration is required for this course. Consists knowledge development, water skills workshop and assessment, confined water presentation and open water presentation training, and rescue skills assessments.

Requirements:
  Be at least 18 years of age with a PADI Divemaster or leadership level with another diver training organization.
  Proof of 60 logged dives including documented experience in night diving, deep diving and underwater navigation.
  Certified diver for a minimum of six months.
  Emergency First Responder Primary and Secondary Care or qualifying training within 24 months or a current C.P.R. and First Aid certification is required prior to the start of this course.
  Medical exam, with completed PADI Medical Statement, within the past twelve months
  Equipment as described for Instructors and Certified Assistants in the General Standards and Procedures.

Divers should have their own equipment (BCD, regulator with gauges, weights, suit, etc.). Tanks can be provided.

Emergency First Responder Instructor

An Emergency First Responder (EFR) Instructor you will teach emergency care guidelines and course to anyone, not just scuba divers. Emergency First Response Instructor or CPR/first aid instructor with another emergency care organization is required for the PADI Open Water Instructor certification.

Registration is required for this course. Consists of performance requirements for primary care, secondary care, care for children and AED course. One day classroom session is required.

Requirements:
  Be at least 18 years of age.
  Emergency First Responder Primary and Secondary Care or qualifying training within 24 months or a current C.P.R. and First Aid certification is required prior to the start of this course.
