PADI Open Water Certification
The starting level for diving is the PADI Scuba Diver course and Open Water Certification.
To enroll in a PADI Scuba Diver course (or Junior Scuba Diver course), you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required, but you can try it first through the York Divers Try It experience.
The PADI Scuba Diver course consists of three main phases:
Knowledge Development to understand basic principles of scuba diving
Cost: $202.00 payable to PADI (Pricing is per PADI's rate)
York Divers is utilizing PADI's eLearning training for the classroom portion of the course. eLearning is designed so that you can learn at your own pace. You learn by watching, listening, reading and interacting with PADI's eLearning Education Program. All students must register with PADI for the Open Water Course and will pay for the eLearning portion at the time of registration. Students will need to contact and sign up for the course with York Divers to finish their training.
You'll be registering for your eLearning on PADI's website. It is important that you register using PADI's York Divers page. If your eLearning is not associated with York Divers, we cannot see your course information. We can help you through the registration process.
PADI eLearning products require parent/guardian permission to be secured for students aged 10-12 years.
